If you like macro photography you’ll need to invest in a good macro lens. I have personally used the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens and can recommend it. Most of the close up photos on this site were taken with this lens.
For the DSLR videographers out there, this lens also works great for interviews. It provides crisp, clear imagery and shallow depth of field due to it’s low f-stop capabilities. For this same reason it is a lens that could be used with portrait photography as well.
This lens is still available and is relatively affordable.
